Three educators at Dawson Springs Independent Schools were honored Thursday with Excellence in Teaching Awards as part of Madisonville Community College’s Regional Education Partnership.
According to Superintendent Lenny Whalen, the honorees included Bailey Dyer from Dawson Springs Elementary, Melissa Larimore from the middle school, and Tamara Rice from the high school.
Each was formally recognized at a ceremony on Thursday at the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts.
The Excellence in Teaching Award is the result of a partnership among area public schools, Madisonville Community College, and Murray State University-Madisonville.
School officials say the award is designed to celebrate and honor exceptional educators at the elementary, middle, and high school levels from Caldwell, Crittenden, Hopkins, and Muhlenberg counties, as well as Dawson Springs Independent Schools.
