A Madisonville Community College student has been named to the 2026 cohort of Kentucky Hunger Dialogue Junior Fellows, a prestigious statewide program recognizing leadership in the fight against hunger. According to information from the college, Celine Gibson, an undergraduate at MCC, was selected for her commitment to advancing food justice and empowering local communities.
The Kentucky Hunger Dialogue Fellows Program, now in its second year, is an initiative that supports students across the state who are working to address food insecurity on their campuses and in their communities. Through leadership training and mentorship, Junior Fellows like Gibson will gain tools to create real change. Later, officials say they may become Senior Fellows, leading their own hunger-focused projects with additional support.
EngageKY, formerly known as Kentucky Campus Connect, and AmeriCorps support the program, fostering collaboration and civic engagement. Organizers say Junior Fellows are an essential part of building a more food-secure Kentucky.
In addition to Gibson, the 2026 Kentucky Hunger Dialogue Junior Fellows include Hunter McGlone from Morehead State University, as well as Addyson Taheny and Mattie Osborne, both of Centre College.
EngageKY Program Manager and Kentucky Hunger Dialogue Coordinator Reba Prather said in a written statement that they are “proud to support these purpose-driven fellows as they continue their work to help build a more just and food-secure Kentucky for all.”
