Madisonville Lions Club Names 2025 Man and Woman of the Year

The Madisonville Lions Club is set to honor two outstanding community members as it announces its 2025 Man and Woman of the Year, who will be recognized at the club’s annual Awards Dinner next month.

Club officials named Linda Thomas as Woman of the Year, recognizing her lifelong commitment to nursing, education, and community service. They noted her leadership roles at Madisonville Community College and Murray State University, along with her involvement on boards such as Baptist Health, the YMCA, and several other civic organizations, have made a remarkable impact on the community.

Mark Metcalfe has been selected as Man of the Year. As the owner of Metcalfe Landscaping and Pleasantview Greenhouses, Club officials said he continues his family’s tradition of service and agricultural excellence in Hopkins County. They said Metcalfe has been recognized locally as Farmer of the Year and was recently a finalist for Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Farmer of the Year. He’s also well known for organizing the Scott Gaines Golf Tournament and for generously volunteering his time and talents to support numerous community events.

The Awards Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Event Barn A in Mahr Park. Tickets are $25 each and must be purchased in advance, as none will be sold at the door. Sales begin March 2, 2026, with tickets available at City Hall from Kim Blue and at First United Bank from Alicia Dalton.
