City Council OKs Code Enforcement Board Change, Street Closure

The Madisonville City Council has approved changes to the Code Enforcement Board meetings and granted permission for a street closure to accommodate upcoming local events.

At Tuesday’s meeting, City Clerk Kim Blue introduced the ordinance that modifies the meeting schedule for the Code Enforcement Board.

click to download audioThe Council gave unanimous approval to the amendment, adopted the 2026 Personnel Policy, and granted a request to close Court Street for a car show in July and a Bluegrass Food Truck Festival in October.

click to download audioFire Department Assistant Chief Jeff Mayfield and Police Chief Steve Bryan delivered their monthly department updates, while Zoning Administrator Mandy Todd presented her report for January.

According to Todd, they issued nearly 30 permits last month, with total construction costs just north of $320,000.
