Lincoln Hargis/Hopkins County Jail mugshot
A Madisonville teenager is facing several charges following a motorcycle chase that started in Madisonville and ended in Manitou last week.
Madisonville Police say officers spotted a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed shortly before 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, passing vehicles in both no-passing and work zones, and displaying driving behavior that suggested the operator was under the influence. Police report the pursuit came to an end on Highway 630 in Manitou, where officers detained 18-year-old Lincoln Hargis of Madisonville.
According to officers, Hargis smelled of marijuana, and a THC vape pen was found in his bag. They say a further investigation revealed that the motorcycle was not insured or registered.
Hargis was taken into custody on several charges, including first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
