An Indiana man was arrested for drug trafficking after a traffic stop on Interstate 69 in Madisonville Tuesday afternoon.
Madisonville Police report 38-year-old Ted Ballard III of Evansville was stopped by officers around 12:45 p.m. after they noticed a drastic slowdown as he was traveling northbound on I-69 near the 117-mile marker and discovered the vehicle didn’t have a valid registration.
During a consented search, police said they found a baggie of suspected meth weighing approximately 4.5 grams in a lunchbox and a pipe with residue lying in the passenger seat.
Ballard was taken into custody and charged with trafficking meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, no registration plates, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, and failure to register the transfer of a motor vehicle. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
