A Madisonville man faces DUI and drug charges after he was reportedly found unresponsive in a vehicle at a local gas station over the weekend.

Madisonville Police report that officers were called to the Ideal gas station on East Center Street around 8:30 a.m. Sunday, after an employee discovered 62-year-old Michael Vandiver unresponsive inside his vehicle.

After waking Vandiver, officers said that he showed signs of impairment. During a search, officers said they found meth in his pocket. They also noted that an oral fluid test of Vandiver indicated the presence of meth, amphetamines, and marijuana.

Vandiver was then taken into custody and charged with possession of meth and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, fourth or greater offense.

He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
