Madisonville Announces Holiday Closures, Trash Schedule

The City of Madisonville has announced closures for the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.

City offices and the Sanitation Department will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25, in observance of the Christmas Holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Friday, December 26.

Trash and Recycle schedule for the Christmas holiday is as follows:

Monday, December 22, will run as usual.

Tuesday, December 23rd, will run the Tuesday and Wednesday routes.

Wednesday, December 24th – Closed

Thursday, December 25th – Closed

Friday, December 25th, crews will run the Thursday and Friday routes.

City officials say the Transfer Station and Transportation Department, located at 900 McCoy Avenue, will also be closed on December 24th and 25th.

During New Year’s week, city offices and the Sanitation Department will be closed on Thursday, January 1, in observance of the New Year holiday, with normal office hours to resume on Friday, January 2nd.

The trash and recycling schedule for New Year’s week is as follows:

Monday, December 29th, through Wednesday, December 31st, routes will run as usual.

Thursday, January 1st, closed for New Year’s Day

Friday, January 2nd, crews will run the Thursday and Friday routes.

The Transfer Station and Transportation Department will also be closed on Thursday, January 1st.
