Hopkins County Grand Jury Issues Indictments in Drug Trafficking Cases

The Hopkins County Grand Jury has issued a series of indictments targeting drug trafficking and related offenses in Madisonville and the surrounding area.

A true bill was returned on Andrew Gamblin of Madisonville on charges of trafficking marijuana, first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication, failing to surrender a revoked operator’s license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The charges are from October 8, 2025, when police responded to a shoplifting call at Kroger on Island Ford Road and said they encountered Gamblin, who smelled of marijuana. Officers said they found marijuana, meth, Suboxone pills, and drug paraphernalia during a search of his backpack.

Also stemming from the October 8 Kroger incident, Matthew Waddle of Madisonville was indicted on charges including public intoxication, second-degree possession of hallucinogen drugs, first-degree trafficking in meth, third-degree trafficking in Clonazepam, possession of a controlled substance not in a proper container, and a second-degree persistent felony offender.

Police reported finding Waddle at the intersection of Island Ford Road and Lantaff Boulevard, where he appeared to be under the influence. During a search of his backpack, officers said they found stolen items from Kroger, suspected meth, Clonazepam pills, mushrooms, a scale, and drug paraphernalia.

Belinda Batchelor of Madisonville was officially charged with first-degree trafficking in meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree persistent felony offender from an incident on October 1, 2025, investigated by the Madisonville Police Department.

A true bill was returned on Christopher Devine of Hanson on charges of trafficking in synthetic drugs, second or subsequent offense, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Devine was arrested on October 2, 2025, after Madisonville Police responded to a crash in the 200 block of Madison Square Drive and said they found him passed out behind the wheel of a heavily damaged vehicle, after smoking synthetic marijuana prior to the accident.

Police said they made several attempts to wake Devine and ultimately had to administer Narcan.

Joshua Glanden of Madisonville was indicted on charges including first-degree trafficking in meth, trafficking marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree persistent felony offender.

The charges are from an incident around October 1, 2025, investigated by the Madisonville Police Department.

The grand jury indicted Jamila Hill of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on a charge of first-degree trafficking in meth following an incident around October 16, 2025, investigated by the Madisonville Police Department.

Dalton Ezell of Crofton was indicted on charges of first-degree trafficking in meth, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and first-degree persistent felony offender.

The charges are from a Madisonville Police Department investigation conducted on or around October 15, 2025.

A true bill was returned on Timothy Oglesby of Madisonville on charges of first-degree trafficking in meth, trafficking marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The charges stem from a Madisonville Police investigation into an incident that took place on or around October 1, 2025.
