The executive team and board of directors at Joy Closet announced last week that they have made the difficult decision to close their Hopkins County location. In a social media post, officials shared that while Joy Closet has served Hopkins County for years, support will now continue directly from the Hopkinsville location.

They praised the Hopkins County team for their dedication and selfless service to local families, noting the positive impact they made in the community. However, officials explained that the loss of grant funding has made it impossible to keep the Hopkins County site open.

The organization also expressed gratitude to the mayor and city council of Earlington for their warm support, which helped Joy Closet serve underprivileged families. Officials emphasized that the Hopkinsville closet remains open to all Hopkins County residents and encouraged them to reach out for assistance.

The mission of Joy Closet, a non-profit organization, helps support the needs of foster and kinship families by providing clothing and essentials for children in custody. The organization also hosts special events, establishing support through “Foster Friendly Partners,” and offers fellowship opportunities for foster, kinship, and adoptive families.
