Dawson Springs Independent Schools canceled school again on Wednesday after another gas leak was discovered as staff arrived on campus.
School officials expressed regret for the late notice to families in a social media post, explaining that buses were rerouted to return students to their homes.
On Monday, a gas leak at the school forced officials to evacuate students for their safety. Elementary students were transported to First Christian Church, while those in grades 6-12 were taken to First Baptist Church. Buses were stationed at both locations to take students home, and car riders were picked up by parents at the churches.
Because of winter weather overnight on Monday, classes were canceled on Tuesday due to hazardous road conditions.
