A Mortons Gap man was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI, after a multi-vehicle wreck on North Main Street in Madisonville early Monday morning.
Madisonville Police report officers were dispatched to the wreck with injuries around 12:20 a.m. and found one of the drivers, 37-year-old Justin Underwood, initially unresponsive and bleeding from his mouth. Police said after talking with Underwood for several minutes, he regained consciousness and was turned over to EMS for transport to the hospital.
According to police, Underwood hit five vehicles, causing significant damage, knocked down a lamp post, and pulled a utility line across the road before his vehicle finally stopped.
Police said Underwood was interviewed, medically cleared, and then taken into custody. He was charged with driving under the influence, first-degree wanton endangerment, and first-degree criminal mischief. Underwood was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
