Overnight winter weather forced the closure of schools across the region Tuesday morning after reports of slick road conditions, though roads are improving as the day goes on.
Hopkins County Emergency Management Director Nick Bailey says road conditions have greatly improved since sunrise, with most routes now clear.

Madsionville Police are reporting that the road departments are doing a great job clearing the streets, but there are still some slick spots in the area. They say there have been several accidents in both the city and county Tuesday morning, and also advise drivers to slow down and take your time if you have to be out on the roads.
