An investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of a Madisonville couple after a traffic stop on Anton Road on Tuesday.

Authorities say the Madisonville-Hopkins County Vice-Narcotics Unit, Kentucky State Police, and U.S. Drug Administration launched a drug trafficking investigation into Stacey Dillard in September, seizing a large amount of crystal meth.

On Tuesday, police reported officers stopped a vehicle at the Ideal Station on Anton Road in Madisonville and made contact with Dillard and Destiny White and their small infant. Police say they seized around one pound of crystal meth in the back seat, just 18 inches from the child. The Department of Child-Based Services was called to assist with the infant and two other children living with Dillard and White.

After the traffic stop, investigators executed a search warrant at 1014 Brown Road in Madisonville, where police say they seized more crystal meth, drug paraphernalia, a large sum of cash, and suspected powder fentanyl.

Both Dillard and White were taken into custody and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), 2nd or greater offense, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), and first-degree wanton endangerment.
