Gas prices across West Central Kentucky continue to trend downward this week, with the regional average falling four cents to $2.59 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s latest Gas Price Report.

Prices across the region remain far below the record high of $4.74 set in June 2022.
AAA’s current averages show consistent pricing across major western Kentucky cities:

Bowling Green: $2.60

Elizabethtown: $2.49

Louisville: $2.65

Owensboro: $2.54

And Paducah: $2.66

Compared to last week’s $2.63 and last year’s $2.66, West Central Kentucky prices remain stable and lower year-over-year.

As tens of millions of Americans prepare for record Thanksgiving travel, gas prices nationwide are holding steady. The national average slipped a penny to $3.06 per gallon. AAA notes that while holiday driving temporarily increases demand, this time of year typically brings lower overall consumption, helping to keep prices stable.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports gasoline demand fell from 9.02 million to 8.52 million barrels per day last week. Meanwhile, domestic gasoline supply rose to 207.4 million barrels, though gasoline production dipped slightly to 9.3 million barrels per day.

Crude oil prices also fell last week, with West Texas Intermediate dropping $1.30 to settle at $59.44 per barrel. U.S. crude inventories declined by 3.4 million barrels but remain about 5% below the five-year seasonal average.

The most expensive gasoline markets remain on the West Coast, led by California ($4.63) and Hawaii ($4.47). The lowest averages are found in Oklahoma ($2.57), Mississippi ($2.61), and Louisiana ($2.65).

Kentucky continues to rank among the 10 cheapest states, with a statewide average of $2.74.
The national average price for public EV charging remains unchanged at 38 cents per kilowatt hour.

Public EV charging shows similar variation. West Virginia (53 cents) tops the nation, while Kansas (25 cents) is the cheapest.
