
Students from Madisonville North Hopkins and Hopkins County Central high schools participated in the regional Ed Rising competition at Murray State University on Monday, November 10, earning recognition and awards.
According to school officials, the chapters are part of the recently launched Teaching and Learning Career Pathway. Madisonville North Hopkins High School students are guided by Carrie Durban, while Amy Thomison leads the group at Hopkins County Central High School.
Officials reported that students from Madisonville North Hopkins took home two awards at the event. Sadie Moore, Audrey Bunch, Beyli (bay-lee) Deras (deer-us), and Kaylee Davis earned 2nd place in the Public Service Announcement category, and Katie Berry received 2nd place in the Children’s Pre-K Original Literature category.
In addition, Emma Maxberry from Hopkins County Central earned 2nd place in the Exploring Support Services Careers in Education category.
