Hopkins County Fiscal Court Approves 2026 Secondary Rural Road Funding

The Hopkins County Fiscal Court has approved funding for 2026 road improvements and a request for topsoil work at the new sheriff’s department facility.

Miles Puckett from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Central City office outlined over $1.25 million in funding for the 2026 Rural Secondary Road Program projects.

click to download audioHe noted that Kentucky 813 and Kentucky 112 are the two roads most likely to be resurfaced in 2026, with plans to repave just over three miles of Kentucky 813.

In other action, the Fiscal Court approved a request from Sheriff Matt Sanderson for more than $37,000 to begin topsoil work at the new facility.
