Candidates Begin Filing for 2026 Races in Hopkins County

Wednesday marked the opening day for candidates in Hopkins County to file paperwork to run for seats in the 2026 Primary Election.

The following candidates have officially filed to run for another term in Hopkins County:

Republican incumbent Keenan Cloern – County Clerk

Republican incumbent Mike Lewis – Jailer

Republican incumbent Ronnie Noel – District 4 Magistrate

Democrat incumbent Vicki Thomison – District 3 Magistrate

Republican incumbent Buddy Cardwell – District 2 Magistrate

Republican incumbent Jack Whitfield, Jr. – Judge Executive

Democrat incumbent James Woodruff – Constable District 3

Republican incumbent Lee Riddle – County Attorney

Incumbent Kevin Cotton also filed on Wednesday to run for another term as mayor of the City of Madisonville. He has served in the seat since 2019.

Republican candidate Charlie Young filed on Wednesday to run for Hopkins County Sheriff.

On Thursday, incumbent Larry Noffsinger filed to seek another term to represent Ward 4 on the Madisonville City Council.

The last day candidates can file to run in the upcoming Primary Election is January 9th.
