A 19-year-old Madisonville woman was taken into custody last week in connection with an assault on a hospital staff member that occurred last month.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 2:15 p.m. on October 19, the Madisonville Police Department was contacted by a healthcare worker at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville about an assault.
During the investigation, authorities said the healthcare worker stated that Jalaysia Robinson grabbed her by the neck and forced her head into the drywall, causing damage to the drywall. Police said the victim also reported that Robinson began hitting her in the head while she was on the ground. Officers said the healthcare worker showed them her injuries while seeking medical attention in the emergency room.
Robinson was taken into custody shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday on a warrant charging her with third-degree assault of a healthcare provider. She was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
