A Hopkins County woman has been charged with assaulting her husband during an argument last week.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reports they were called by emergency room staff just after 11 p.m. Friday about an assault on Old Morganfield Road in Manitou. They said the victim, Darren Duncan, told them he was preparing for bed when his wife, Linda, struck him with an unknown object when she became upset and was yelling at him.
According to deputies, Mr. Duncan had a wound on his back consistent with a sharp blade. Authorities said that he stated that after being struck, he ran from the house, drove to his brother’s house, and was then taken to the emergency room.
Linda Duncan was charged with second-degree assault and lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
