Farmers, Dignitaries, Community Celebrate 100 Years In Princeton

The University of Kentucky leadership and board of trustees were joined by farmers, state and local officials, and community members to celebrate a century of service at the Research and Education Center in Princeton.

College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment Dean Dr. Laura Stephenson says the UK Research and Education Center is built on a single promise.

University of Kentucky President Dr. Eli Capilouto said Princeton has always held a strong mission of service.

Dr. Capilouto noted the work of researchers at Princeton during the past 100 years.

He added there was no a question of whether or not to rebuild after the December 2021 tornado that destroyed the majority of the buildings at the Research and Education Center.

Dr. Capilouto added the work in Princeton will help carry agriculture for the next 100 years.

On hand to speak at the celebration were Kentucky Office of Agriculture Policy Executive Director Brandon Reed, Kentucky Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Jason Howell, Kentucky House member Suzanne Miles, and UK Board of Trustees Chairman Britt Brockman.
