A Hanson man faces several charges, including assault of a police officer, after a weekend disturbance.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a disturbance on Section House Lane around 10:15 Saturday night, where 31-year-old James Truitt appeared unsteady and aggressive, striking a deputy in the face before being subdued with tasers and handcuffed.
Truitt was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, third-degree assault of a police officer, first-degree disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
