A Madisonville man was arrested on weapon charges after an investigation by local police on Tuesday afternoon.
Madisonville Police reported that when officers executed a search warrant on Wiman Drive, they found a handgun inside the residence of 54-year-old Archie Johnson, who was a convicted felon.
Police said Johnson admitted to purchasing the firearm and having it in his possession for several years.
He was taken into custody and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and receiving stolen property, a firearm. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
