Residents of Hopkins County are being advised of important updates regarding the 2025 property tax collection process from the Sheriff’s Office, including mail dates, discount deadlines, and payment locations.
Officials at the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office have announced that collection for the 2025 real estate and tangible property taxes will begin on November 1st.
According to officials, tax bills—white postcards with a yellow stripe—will be mailed out on October 29th. If you haven’t received your postcard by November 7th, you’re encouraged to contact the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office at 270-821-5661. The discounted tax amount will be available for collection from November 1st through November 30th.
For 2025, officials noted that the homestead and disability exemption amount has been raised to $49,100.
Officials emphasized that although collections do not begin until November 1st, the discount amount will still be available throughout the month of November.
Additionally, starting November 1st, residents will be able to search for and pay their taxes online through the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office website at www.hopkinscountysheriff.com.
Officials also mentioned that the Sheriff’s Office has not yet relocated to its new location, so tax payments will continue to be accepted at 56 North Main Street for now.
