Madisonville City Council finalized the 2025 property tax rates Monday afternoon and recognized the community’s Madisonville Salutes event on Saturday.
Before addressing the 2025 property tax rates, Mayor Kevin Cotton praised the city team for what he called “an incredible weekend” at the Madisonville Salutes event and thanked the VFW and American Legion for funding the traveling walls display.

The Council also received an update from Zoning Administrator Mandy Todd, who reported that over a dozen construction permits had been issued in August, totaling more than $2 million.

click to download audioThe Council also heard monthly reports from Madisonville Fire Department Assistant Chief Jeff Mayfield and Madisonville Police Chief Steve Bryan.
Before the meeting was adjourned, Mayor Cotton announced the next City Council meeting will be Monday, October 20th, with no meeting on October 6th.
