A Madisonville man was taken into custody on a warrant in Princeton Friday morning in connection with an assault case in a neighboring county.
According to Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison, 45-year-old Steven Matheny was taken into custody shortly after midnight on a Hopkins County warrant for first-degree assault.
Allison says the charge stems from a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian that is being investigated by the Madisonville Police Department.
Matheny was booked into the Caldwell County Jail.
