Hopkins County Man Honored By Kentucky Fish And Wildlife

A Hopkins County man was among 30 employees honored with awards from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resouces for outstanding service in 2024.

The awards were presented during a special luncheon at the Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm in Frankfort last month, celebrating the dedication and hard work of staff making a difference across the state.

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commissioner Rich Storm and Deputy Commissioner Gabe Jenkins were on hand at the luncheon on July 22, where directors from all six agency divisions recognized staff members in the following divisions: Administrative Services, Engineering, Infrastructure and Technology, Fisheries, Information, Education and Marketing, Law Enforcement, and Wildlife.

According to officials, Drew Van Cleve, a Wildlife Technician III from Hopkins County, received the Technician of the Year Award, an honor given to an individual who is highly effective in their position, thinks creatively and works well independently or as a member of a team. Officials noted that Van Cleve has dedicated ten years to serving in state government.
