A Madisonville man faces several charges after police responded to reports of gunfire at an apartment complex early Sunday morning.
Madisonville Police said officers responded to Hidden Hills Apartments on Allison Avenue just before 3:00 Sunday morning after receiving reports of multiple gunshots, believed to have originated from one of the apartments. Upon arrival, officers said they found shell casings on the ground and temporarily evacuated surrounding residents to ensure their safety and check on their well-being.
According to police, they attempted to call out the man, identified as 28-year-old Roger Blair, who briefly opened the door while naked and then retreated back inside the apartment and closed the door. Officers added that Blair eventually came out of the apartment and was taken into custody.
During a search of the apartment, police said they found several handgun shell casings along with multiple spots in the floor and ceiling that had been struck by gunfire. Officers also discovered the handgun hidden inside the apartment.
Blair was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment for discharging a firearm, tampering with physical evidence, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
