Students across Hopkins County returned to classrooms Wednesday as the new school year began.
District Communications Specialist Lori Harrison reported that the first day of school went well for students and staff.
click to download audioShe noted that final enrollment numbers will be available in a few days, but estimates indicate the district has a similar student count to last year, with more than 5,900 enrolled.
Harrison also reminds drivers to stay alert with students back in school.
