Johnney McKinney mugshot/Christian County Jail
A Dawson Springs man is facing drug trafficking charges after he was indicted by a Christian County grand jury on Friday.
A true bill was returned on Johnney McKinney on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (second or subsequent offense, methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to deliver or manufacture.
McKinney was arrested in June following a pursuit with Kentucky State Police that began in Crofton and ended in Hopkins County.
State Police reported that the pursuit started when they attempted to stop McKinney on Kentucky 800 for a registration violation, and he fled. Police said he crossed into Hopkins County, where the pursuit ended when he drove off the road, down a trail, and struck a tree.
Police said after McKinney was taken into custody, he was taken to the hospital to be checked out. After he was medically cleared, he was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
