Indiana Man Arrested in Madisonville for Meth Trafficking

An Indiana man is facing multiple charges, including drug trafficking, after a traffic stop on Interstate 69 in Madisonville on Friday.

Madisonville Police report that 66-year-old Gerald Wilson of Mishawaka was stopped around 3:00 Friday afternoon. Officers said when they approached the vehicle, they noticed the smell of marijuana coming from it and saw marijuana blunt tubes in the center console. According to police, Wilson also admitted to having methamphetamine inside the vehicle, along with an open container of alcohol.

During a search of the vehicle, police said they found a bag on the passenger seat containing about 13.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a meth glass bong and pipe, another baggie of suspected meth, a spoon, THC gummies, and five suspected hydrocodone pills in a prescription bottle belonging to a female. Police said they also discovered additional suspected marijuana blunts and a 9 mm handgun inside the vehicle.

Wilson was taken into custody and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance-meth, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.
