Dawson Springs Community Center Hosts 77th Annual BBQ Fundraiser

The Dawson Springs Community Center is preparing for its 77th Annual BBQ fundraiser—serving up food, fun, and tradition for the entire community.

Kathy Nichols shared with Your News Edge that this is the Community Center’s largest fundraising event of the year.

She said the Knights of Columbus will begin preparing thousands of pounds of meat early Thursday morning.

According to Nichols, their homemade barbecue sauce will be available by the pint for $7 each, and the Community Center will start serving sandwiches and plates to the public around 11:00 Friday morning.

Nichols also said that their barbecue will be sold by the pound at the Food Giant along with their homemade sauce, to help cut down on traffic congestion at the Community Center.

She also provided details on the pricing for barbecue sandwiches and plates.

Nichols shared that on Friday evening, barbecue nachos will be available at the park for $10, with barbecue sandwiches and drinks, along with something new added this year.

Friday night will also include inflatables for kids, live music, and more.

Additionally, tickets are currently being sold for a raffle drawing on Friday night.

Tickets can be purchased at the beauty shop on the square in downtown Dawson Springs, at Planters Bank, at Casey’s, from Community Center Board members, and from various individuals selling them at the Food Giant at different times.

The festivities will continue on Saturday with a car show, a golf tournament, music, and more. Your News Edge will share details about Saturday’s events on Wednesday.
