Three students from Union County High School are competing this week in the 77th annual National High School Finals Rodeo, the world’s largest rodeo.

School officials say Cailey Divine, Briley Garrett, and Cameron Thomas qualified for the Kentucky National High School Rodeo Team and traveled to Rock Springs, Wyoming, this week to compete nationally in Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, and Team Roping events.

According to school officials, the national event brings together over 1,800 competitors from 44 states, five Canadian provinces, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, and Guatemala. Along with vying for prizes, participants have the opportunity to earn college scholarships and the title of National High School Finals Rodeo Champion.

Each performance of the National High School Finals Rodeo can be watched live online at www.thecowboychannel.com, with broadcasts airing daily at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. through Saturday, July 19th. School officials note that the championship round on Saturday will also be televised nationally as part of the Cinch High School Rodeo Tour series.
