Ryan Tefend/Hopkins County Jail mugshot
Authorities say calls about a possible impaired driver on Interstate 69 led to the arrest of a Madisonville man over the weekend on multiple charges.
Madisonville Police reported that 30-year-old Ryan Tefend was stopped by officers near Rally’s on East Center Street after exiting the interstate around 1:00 Sunday morning. Officers noted a strong smell of alcohol coming from Tefend and placed him under arrest after he failed field sobriety tests. During a search of Tefend, officers said they found a Hydrocodone pill in his pocket.
Tefend was taken into custody and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, careless driving, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, failure to produce an insurance card, and other traffic-related violations.
