Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 has issued a warning to residents about an ongoing phone scam targeting individuals in the Post 2 area.

Reports indicate that people are receiving calls from someone impersonating KSP Troopers, including Trooper Porter, who then threaten arrest if money isn’t sent immediately.

KSP Post 2 emphasizes that these calls are fraudulent. The public should be aware that KSP will never contact individuals by phone to demand money under threat of legal action or arrest. These tactics are designed to intimidate victims into sending money under false pretenses.

If you receive such a call, hang up immediately. KSP urges anyone who gets these suspicious calls not to provide any personal or financial information to the caller.

Scams can be reported to the Kentucky Attorney General’s office at (888) 432-9257, online at http://ag.ky.gov/scams, or by contacting your local KSP Post.

KSP Post Two serves the following counties: Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster.
