Robert Grigsby/Hopkins County Jail mugshot
A Madisonville man is facing several assault charges after an investigation into a possible domestic incident over the weekend.
Madisonville Police say officers responded to Wiman Drive just after 11 p.m. Saturday and found 49-year-old Robert Grigsby naked, sweating, and shoving two men while trying to get into an apartment.
When officers tried to handcuff Grigsby, they say he struggled, screamed, and grabbed both an officer’s gun and another officer’s taser. Police say he refused to let go, kicked, spat blood, and grabbed an officer’s genitals before being taken to the ground, also damaging a body camera during the struggle. Officers said Grigsby also threatened to kill them as he was being handcuffed.
After restraining Grigsby, officers spoke with the victim who had minor leg injuries from the incident. Police said they also found Grigsby’s shorts nearby, along with hypodermic needles and a large bag of suspected meth.
Grigsby faces multiple charges, including resisting arrest, indecent exposure, meth trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia, terroristic threatening, attempted burglary, assault, and disarming and assaulting officers. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
