One man is in custody after he assaulted another man in the parking lot of a Madisonville restaurant Sunday afternoon.
Madisonville Police report responding to El Bracero Mexican Restaurant on Chelsea Street around 12:30 after receiving a report of an assault in the parking lot. When officers arrived at the scene they found the victim Roger McCarty laying on the ground bleeding from his head and unresponsive. Madisonville EMS administered first aid and performed CPR on McCarty, who was transported to the hospital with serious head injuries. McCarty remains in critical condition at an unnamed hospital.
The suspect in the incident was identified as Darren Dubblin. He had fled the scene, but was later caught in the area by Madisonville Police and Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputies. Dubblin was charged with Assault First Degree.
