Gov. Beshear Unveils State Gas Tax Cut Taking Effect July 1

Families across Kentucky will soon see some relief at the pump, as Governor Andy Beshear announced a reduction in the state gas tax set to take effect next month.

Governor Beshear, in his Team Kentucky update Thursday, said that the cost of essential items for families remains high, making it difficult for many Kentucky and American families to cover their expenses. He noted that this is why he has remained committed to working on reducing costs and easing the financial burden on Kentucky households.

He announced that his administration is taking further action to help Kentuckians save money by reducing the state gas tax by 1.4 cents per gallon, starting July 1.

Gov. Beshear said his administration will continue searching for every possible way to help Kentucky families save money and make it a little easier to cover their bills. He acknowledged the struggles families face and added that it’s their job to respond and help.
