The Crittenden County Economic Development Corporation has sold 11.1 acres in Industrial Park North to JKMK Properties, LLC.

It is a move aimed at creating high-quality jobs and new investment in the community.

In a written statement, CCEDC Board Chairman Chris Cook said this is the first commercial property owner in Industrial Park North, and that the sale not only brings opportunity, but also helps reduce debt through the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority.

The land sold for $5,500 per acre. More than nine acres remain available for development in the industrial park.

County Judge Executive Perry Newcom praised the deal and the commitment of JKMK Properties, owned by Kent and Mindy Withrow, and said they are grateful for the investment and commitment to Crittenden County.

Kent Withrow, who also owns Allied Contracting Group in Madisonville, said the purchase reflects a long-term vision for sustainable economic development in Marion — where he and his wife have lived for more than 20 years.

Their recent projects include transforming the old Conrad’s Grocery into a coffee and artisan space and reopening Crittenden County Collision.

Garrett Clark, executive director of the Lake Barkley Partnership, also said the sale strengthens local prospects, and gives their community “a real chance to attract or grow a business that generates jobs and investment for Crittenden County.”
