The Madisonville City Council has approved increased funding for the Sports Complex, declared a city-owned lot as surplus, and appointed three members to the Appeals Board.
During committee reports at Monday night’s meeting, Ward 3 Councilman Adam Townsend, also a member of the Tourism Advisory Board, requested the Council to increase the Sports Complex’s monthly funding to $90,000.

In new business, the Council approved a resolution read by City Clerk Kim Blue to declare a city-owned lot on Dempsey Street as surplus.
click to download audioThe Council also approved transferring the property to Interstate Hydraulic Industries for $15,000.
click to download audioIn other action, the Council appointed Justin Lamb, Heath Duncan, and Kent Waide to the Appeals Board for three-year terms ending May 1, 2028.
During department reports, Planning and Zoning Administrator Mandy Todd reported that 15 building permits were issued in April.
