Last week, the Regional Education Partnership Excellence in Teaching awards at Madisonville Community College honored three teachers at Dawson Springs Independent Schools for their outstanding classroom contributions to education.

The event featured public school partners from Caldwell, Crittenden, Dawson Springs, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, and Webster County districts, along with Madisonville Community College and Murray State University-Madisonville.

Cindy Dukes at the elementary school, Jessyle Spalding at the middle school, and Micki Clark from Dawson Springs High School were recognized with awards and presented a plaque at the annual event.

The award was established to celebrate and highlight outstanding teaching in elementary, middle, and high school education. Nominees are sought who exhibit exceptional skills and dedication to their profession, inspiring and motivating students to reach their full potential. Since 2017, colleges and school districts have been meeting regularly to discuss shared concerns, plan collaborative projects, and enhance dual credit programs for students. This partnership has led to the development of several key initiatives over the years.
