While not a major concern, a ‘slight risk’ for severe storms exists Tuesday afternoon and evening.
NWS Paducah Lead Forecaster Allan Diegan said that a quick severe storm or two cannot be ruled out.
With the various rain chances expected before the weekend, Diegan said the area should not see more than an inch or an inch-and-a-half. A few severe storms could also be possible on Thursday.
Highs through Wednesday will climb into the 80s, while Thursday through the weekend will be in the 70s.
Plenty of sunshine is expected for the weekend, as many celebrate the 151st Kentucky Derby.
