Commercial traffic that utilizes U.S. 431 in Muhlenberg County needs to be aware of a detour that will re-route traffic in Todd and Logan counties.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports the road closure around mile-point 5 near Union Ridge Road and Myer’s Chapel Road south of Belton will be in effect through mid-May, or until repairs are complete. Crews are making repairs to the road where it was damaged and closed by an active embankment slide recently, which requires commercial truck drivers to use the detour to avoid other routes not suitable for their weight.
Northbound and southbound drivers should use Kentucky 176, Kentucky 181, U.S. 68, and U.S. 79 between Drakesboro and Russellville to bypass U.S. 431.
