The official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Kentucky Sports Factory, a state-of-the-art sports and recreation facility located in Madisonville, will be held on Saturday.

Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton, Judge-Executive Jack Whitfield, and members of the Kentucky Sports Factory leadership team will attend.

According to city officials, the Kentucky Sports Factory is a highly anticipated addition to the community and region with an impressive lineup of features, including:

Six hardwood-floor basketball courts (convertible to 12 volleyball courts and 22 pickleball courts)
Batting cages
Indoor turf soccer field
Concessions area
Party rooms
Professional office and conference spaces

The Kentucky Sports Facility opened on January 15 and has already hosted two major events — a soccer tournament in January and a volleyball tournament in February.

In addition, General Manager Brett Roddy reported at a February Madisonville City Council meeting that since opening, approximately 2,000 daily passes have been sold, generating $13,771 in revenue. He also reported the facility is now open for walkers from Monday through Friday.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 11:00 Saturday morning at the Kentucky Sports Factory, located at 839 Midtown Boulevard in Madisonville.
