
A Madisonville man and two women were arrested on drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop on Sunday morning.
According to Madisonville Police, a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Amy Rice was stopped at Pappy’s Convenience Store at 2015 Grapevine Road after she was seen crossing the center line. After a K-9 unit alerted officers to illegal narcotics inside the vehicle, police conducted a search and reportedly found a baggie of marijuana, a large sack of suspected synthetic marijuana, a digital scale, a meth pipe, and a significant amount of suspected meth inside the vehicle.
Rice and her two passengers, 49-year-old Crystol Cumens and 47-year-old Corey Mason were taken into custody and lodged in the Hopkins County Jail on charges of trafficking meth and synthetic marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rice was also charged with failure to produce an insurance card and careless driving.
