
Officials from Hopkins County Schools have announced that the Hopkins County Central High School High Voltage Dance Team won the Universal Dance Association’s National Championship in Pom.
In addition, officials said the team placed second in the nation in Hip Hop, as they were competing in Varsity Intermediate Division II.
This year, the National Dance Team Championship, organized by the Universal Dance Association, a Varsity Spirit brand, welcomed 5,935 athletes and 374 teams from 36 states. UDA Officials said all teams invited to perform at the championship received a bid at a Varsity Spirit Camp in 2024. Teams competed in Pom, Jazz, Hip Hop, High Kick, Game Day and Game Day Live. The competition occurred from January 31 through February 2 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at The Walt Disney World® Resort.
