An Illinois man and woman were arrested following an armed robbery and police chase in McLean County over the weekend.

The McLean County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery at the Valero convenience store in Livermore and contacted Kentucky State Police shortly after 3:30 Sunday afternoon. According to police, the store’s manager reported that the two suspects fled in a Lincoln Town Car, heading on KY 136 towards Ohio County. Beaver Dam Police reportedly spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspects fled onto Johnson Road where they abandoned the car in a field and ran towards Rough River.

State Police and the McLean County Sheriff’s Office used K9s and drones flown by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office to search for the suspects who were later found by an officer on patrol coming out of a wooded area on KY 69 and taken into custody.

29-year-old Taylor Rolson and 27-year-old Angela Burton, both of Mansfield, were charged with first-degree robbery, fleeing and evading police in a vehicle and on foot, trafficking meth and multiple other offenses. In addition, Rolson was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and first-degree wanton endangerment. The pair were lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford.
